Calvary and St. Joseph Cemeteries, 4227 Wabash Ave, Terre Haute, 812-232-8404
Calvary Cemetery located on the east side of Terre Haute provides the Catholic and Christian populations with a quiet, serene, and peaceful burial sight. St. Joseph’s cemetery was the only Catholic burial grounds in the city and was land-locked, creating the need for another Catholic cemetery. The Catholic community was in need of more burial space in another location to satisfy their needs. With the support of the Hulman and Ryan families of Terre Haute, land was purchased and Calvary opened its gates in 1913. The staff at Calvary strives to meet the needs of the community by providing both traditional burial graves and the Chapel Mausoleum and the Garden Mausoleum that will be constructed in the near future.
